Ag Service Technician Apprentice

Reports To: Service Manager Supervises: None FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Launch Your Career in Equipment Service. Are you mechanically inclined and eager to learn? We're looking for a motivated Ag Service Technician Apprentice to join our team and train alongside experienced technicians. Through our hands-on training program, you'll develop the skills needed to diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural and turf equipment while building a rewarding career in the equipment industry. No extensive mechanic experience is required—just a strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and a willingness to learn. What You'll Do: * Train with experienced technicians to perform basic diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on agricultural and turf equipment. * Participate in company-provided technical training and skill development programs. * Learn about John Deere and competitive equipment, systems, and technology. * Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and a clean, organized work area. * Follow all safety procedures and dealership standards. * Complete work orders, service documentation, and accurately track time and materials used. * Other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring: * A strong interest in mechanics and a desire to build technical skills. * Ability to perform basic repairs using service manuals, tools, and diagnostic equipment. * Strong communication and computer skills. * Ability to safely operate equipment and lift up to 75 pounds regularly. * Valid driver's license with a good driving record. * Must maintain a good driving record in compliance with company Motor Vehicle Records criteria. * Must pass a DOT physical and renew certification annually as a condition of continued employment. * Reliable attendance and flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed. * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Pay Information: The hourly pay range for this position is $17 to $22. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base hourly wage for this role. Based on factors such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made. In Season Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 7am-12pm OR 7am-3pm (rotation determined by store) Off Season/Winter Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm *In Season Hours may be extended during peak seasons (planting, harvest, or any other peak selling season) to meet the needs of the store. Extended Hours are determined by the needs of the store and subject to change. * *Off Season Hours are from November-March. Start and end date to winter hours is dependent on year and subject to change. *
