As an Associate Solutions Architect intern you will partner across AWS to help customers craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices around cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help customers use AWS within their organizations ranging from new start-ups to large enterprise customers. This position is part of an accelerated career development program for those who want to advance both their technical and business skills. The program will provide you with training and work experience that aligns in the field of technical training. This unique program consists of mentoring by subject matter experts, project-based learning curriculum and experiential learning assignments. Program Overview: The internship is a 12-week, cohort-based immersive experience that gives you a front-row seat to life as an AWS Solutions Architect. You'll join a cohort of fellow SA interns at our hub and experience the full arc of the SA role — from technical deep dives to real customer engagements. Your internship follows a weekly progression from onboarding and cloud fundamentals through hands-on customer work and a capstone project, with each week building on the last. You'll be paired with a manager and a mentor who will guide you through your projects, help you navigate Amazon, and provide regular feedback on your growth. This isn't a "watch and learn" internship — you'll participate in customer calls, build proof-of-concept architectures, and contribute to deliverables that make a real impact. You'll go through the program alongside your fellow interns, building lasting professional relationships and learning collaboratively. Strong-performing interns are considered for return offers into our full-time Associate Solutions Architect roles, giving you a clear path back to AWS after graduation. Location Details: This program is offered only in Seattle, WA. Start Date Details: This is a cohort-based program where everyone is required to start on the same day. Start dates are tentatively set to occur May 24th, 2027. Key job responsibilities - Create solutions that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services - Interface with customer stakeholders, including developers and team leads - Drive effective feedback gathering from customers, distill and translate feedback into clear business and technical requirements for product and engineering teams A day in the life Your day might start with your intern cohort gathering for a technical workshop — a hands-on session building with Amazon Bedrock or designing a resilient cloud architecture. By midday, you could be shadowing your mentor on a customer discovery call, learning firsthand how SAs translate business challenges into technical solutions, then debriefing afterward to discuss what you observed and how you'd approach the problem differently. In the afternoon, you'll work on your capstone project — a real-world proof-of-concept or technical asset that you'll present to leadership at the end of your internship — collaborating with other interns to troubleshoot and brainstorm. Later, you might attend an intern event like a fireside chat with a senior leader, a career panel, or a team social. These sessions give you a window into the breadth of career paths at AWS and help you build a network that extends well beyond the summer. About the team From week one, you'll be in the mix — attending customer calls, building architectures, and contributing to your team's goals. We believe the best way to learn is by doing, and we give our interns real ownership. Our team is specifically designed to develop early career talent — our mentors, managers, and program structure are all geared toward helping you grow your technical skills, your business acumen, and your confidence as a future SA. You won't be a solo intern in a large org. You'll be part of a cohort of peers that learns, builds, and grows together, creating a support network that lasts well beyond the summer. You'll work alongside full-time SAs, giving you an immersive, in-person experience with direct access to leaders and mentors. Basic Qualifications: - Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to a 12 week internship maximum - Experience with one of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C++ - Experience with AI/ML technologies - Experience with one or more of the following domains: analytics, security, storage, DevOps, application development, or machine learning - Experience in written and verbal communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership - Currently enrolled in a bachelors or greater degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical fields with a graduation date between December 2027 and September 2028 - Are 18 years of age or older Preferred Qualifications: - AWS or other cloud certification - Experience applying established frameworks and design patterns to deliver working software (can include coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or previous internships) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
