THE ROLE Turn your classroom knowledge into real‑world impact. As a Electrical Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects that shape communities. You’ll gain hands‑on exposure to planning, design, and construction activities—building practical skills, confidence, and a clearer vision for your future in electrical engineering. Morrison-Maierle provides civil engineering design and consulting for projects related to transportation, airports, industrial, municipal infrastructures, water, land development, environmental, survey, planning, CAD, and buildings focused on structural, mechanical, electrical and information communication technology. In this role, the intern applies electrical engineering design principles to building systems with project work focusing on interpreting the architectural design of a building and supplying it with necessary power needs. This includes designing lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, HVAC power supply, and other electrical components. These responsibilities include: Works with mentor to grasp project vision. Learns how to interpret the architectural design plan and research appropriate power systems to fit the scope of the project. Interact with engineering design software to build power system components such as circuitry, equipment power plans, lighting plans, and fire alarm plans within the building design. Support project specification writing. Understand from a practical scenario the compliance of electrical safety standards and building codes with in a project. Works cross-functionally with other engineering disciplines to support project design. Conceptualize how electrical engineering design challenges are creatively solved.
