You’ll help solve real problems, stay organized, communicate across teams, and make an impact from day one while building the foundation for your career.   Responsibilities Learn from the best. Potential job functions based on internship type may include:   * Assist with the overall electrical scope on one of the following: Power, Solar, Energy Storage or Data Center projects  * Assist with determining best layout of collection system, considering project constraints   * Handling shop drawings, submittals, and the request for information (RFI) processes  * Assisting with purchase orders and subcontractor agreements  * Collaborating with team in preconstruction and pre-installation meetings  * Utilizing industry-leading technology and software to assist in construction processes  * Supporting preparation and evaluation of bid packages  * Consulting with subcontractors and material suppliers  * Handling material procurement    Program Overview: Our summer intern program (May – August 2027) is designed to give you real, hands-on experience from day one, working on meaningful projects that directly impact the business. You’ll gain exposure to innovative work, build professional skills through development opportunities, and be supported by a team that values your growth. Your ideas matter here, and you’ll have the chance to contribute, learn, and make a difference while exploring your career path.   Project Assignment: You will have the opportunity to join our team in one of our many industries, with placement aligned by individual interests and evolving organizational priorities. Project and team placement promote meaningful work, professional growth, and broad exposure to strategic initiatives that drive enterprise impact.   Examples of our industries include but are not limited to: * Renewable Energy * Commercial * Data Center * Federal Contracting * Sports and Entertainment    Required Qualifications: Cultivate your skills in your chosen field of study and build your career with Mortenson. We look forward to hearing from you if you: * Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Electrical Engineering * Are willing to be mobile/relocate * Possess a current driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation * Are comfortable with exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and a trailer office environment   Preferred Qualifications: * Have previous related internship experience * Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate junior * Have a basic understanding of construction and generally accepted business practices * Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills and show initiative and leadership * Showcase a positive and professional attitude and solid customer service skills * Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively handle multiple competing priorities   The hourly wage for college Interns starts at $18.
