Engineering Intern

Position Overview: As an Engineering Intern, you will support our engineering team with critical data management and design documentation initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience in engineering processes, CAD documentation, technical data migration, and product lifecycle management while working alongside experienced engineers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related technical field and possesses strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, and an interest in engineering documentation and product development.   Key Responsibilities: * Support engineering data migration projects between legacy and current systems. * Review, organize, validate, and transfer engineering data, drawings, part files, and related documentation. * Assist in identifying and resolving discrepancies within engineering databases and document repositories. * Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to verify migrated information. * Update engineering drawings, assemblies, and documentation using CAD software. * Revise drawings to reflect engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs). * Verify drawing accuracy, dimensions, tolerances, bill of materials (BOMs), and revision histories. * Assist engineers with product development, documentation, and continuous improvement projects. * Support the creation and maintenance of bills of materials and part master data. * Participate in cross-functional meetings and project reviews as needed.   Requirements: * Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.   Desired Skills * Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar platforms. * Familiarity with product data management (PDM), document control, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. * Knowledge of engineering change management processes. igus is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
