Instrument Technician

Description Position Status: PRN Supervisor: Supply Manager What You’ll Do: The Instrument Technician is responsible for the sterile supplies and maintenance of the ambulatory surgical center. Preparation, storage, processing, and sterilization of instrument trays and supplies. Ensures and maintains adequate supply levels. Checks for broken, defective, out-dated, or missing items and reports them to the manager. Adheres to procedures in accordance with department and OSHA guidelines Requirements What You’ll Need: High school diploma or higher education. Experience in a medical or hospital environment, preferably working with medical surgical supplies. Sterile processing certification a plus. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Other duties as assigned as necessary and may vary at times, as needed, by your immediate supervisor or as directed by the company. Requires extensive mobility (walking an standing) while performing duties. Periodic pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients and/or equipment. May have exposure to patients with communicable diseases. May have exposure to hazardous equipment or agents. GH 9/9/13 Bloodborne Pathogen Classification: Category I-Occupational Exposure #ASC5
