Junior Help Desk Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role Summer internships will range between the months of May and September depending on university schedules. Internship is full-time and on-site in Mountain View, CA. The IT team at Muon keeps the whole company running — laptops, accounts, software, and the day-to-day support that lets our engineers focus on building spacecraft. As a Help Desk Intern, you'll be the friendly first point of contact for IT support: setting up equipment, troubleshooting common issues, and helping teammates get unblocked. It's a hands-on way to build real IT and customer-service skills while learning how a fast-moving aerospace company operates. Responsibilities Serve as a first point of contact for help desk requests, responding to tickets and walking teammates through fixes Set up, image, and deploy laptops, accounts, and peripherals for new and existing employees Troubleshoot common hardware, software, printing, conferencing, and connectivity issues Help maintain IT inventory and asset records, and keep documentation and how-to guides up to date Escalate more complex issues to senior IT staff and learn from how they are resolved Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or program in IT, computer science, or a related field Basic understanding of Windows and/or macOS and common productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft 365) Strong communication and customer-service skills, and patience helping non-technical users Well-organized, reliable, and eager to learn Able to work full-time and on-site in Mountain View, CA Nice-to-have Skills Prior help desk, IT support, or customer-service experience Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Zendesk, or Freshservice) Basic networking knowledge (Wi-Fi, VPN, cabling) or hardware troubleshooting Exposure to Active Directory, Okta, or Google Workspace administration CompTIA A+ or similar coursework or certification (in progress is fine) Pay range Bachelors students = $40/hour, Masters = $45/hour, PhD = $50/hour About Muon Space Founded in 2021, Muon Space is an end-to-end Space Systems Provider that designs, builds, and operates LEO satellite constellations delivering mission-critical data.
