TCC Family Health:  TCC Family Health, founded in 1939, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), provides comprehensive, high quality health care and wellness services to those of all ages in the under resourced and underserved need in the greater Long Beach community. TCC is now a vibrant network of 14 clinic sites, including three school-based health centers, and one mobile medical clinic. Job Summary:   The Medical Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality patient care in an outpatient clinical setting. Under the direct supervision of licensed personnel, the Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties within their scope of practice, supports patient flow, and helps maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  * Provides direct patient care under the supervision of licensed personnel and within the Medical Assistant scope of practice. * Performs assigned clinical duties in accordance with established competency requirements. * Collects and documents patient information and clinical data accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). * Supports patient intake, rooming, preparation for examinations, and other clinical workflows. * Assists with Women’s Health procedures and patient care activities as trained and authorized. * Applies infection prevention and safety practices consistently. * Responds appropriately to changing patient care needs and communicates concerns to licensed clinical staff. * Maintains a clean, safe, organized, and patient-ready clinical environment. * Provides administrative and clerical support operations. * Participates as a member of the healthcare team to support continuity and coordination of patient care. * Completes and maintains required Medical Assistant competencies and assigned training. Additional Responsibilities:  * Attends required staff meetings, in-services, education, and training. * Participates in departmental performance improvement and quality initiatives. * Follows applicable clinical standards, policies, procedures, and established workflows. * Assists with maintaining systems and processes that support nursing and patient care. * Supports orientation and development of students and/or newly hired staff, as assigned. * Performs other duties within the scope of the position as assigned.  Education/Qualifications: * High School diploma or GED REQUIRED. * Medical Assistant Certification REQUIRED. * Current CPR/BLS Certification REQUIRED. * Phlebotomy certification preferred. * Previous experience in a medical, hospital, or healthcare setting preferred. * Previous experience in OB/GYN, Women’s Health, pediatrics, or primary care preferred. * Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, coworkers, providers, and other members of the healthcare team. * Demonstrated reliability, flexibility, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements. * Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. * Ability to learn and follow established procedures and workflows. * Basic proficiency with EMR systems, medical terminology, and standard office equipment. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.  * Bilingual in Spanish/Khmer (strongly preferred) Competencies and Essential Skills * Communication / Customer Service * Computer Skills / Job Knowledge * Dependability / Flexibility * Mission / Objectives * Productivity / Quality of Work * Team & People Relations Position Details: * Specialties: Primary Care, Pediatrics, OB/GYN * Schedule: Monday-Friday / Day Shift / Rotating Saturday * Job Type: Full-Time * Setting: Outpatient Clinic Working Conditions * Environment: Work to be performed onsite in office setting with routine use of computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
