Description Position Title: Quality Assistant (M.A.) Department: Quality Department Reports To: Director of Quality/IP Exempt: Non-Exempt Job Summary: The Quality Assistant is responsible for the administrative tasks within the Quality Department with direction and support from the Director of Quality/IP. The Quality Assistant will assist with the document control process, organizing Quality projects, and managing the filing systems. Responsibilities Support department with document control Manage the department’s filing and organizational needs Assist with data entry of confidential materials. Assist with preparing for committee and council meetings Support the Quality Team in researching educational materials on quality assurance and quality improvement results. Support the department with Survey Readiness and participate in survey when needed. Attend all relevant committee and departmental meetings. Serve as a positive, proactive voice for SSH’s Quality Team. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested with a professional and positive attitude, and team spirit. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education, Training, Licenses, and Experience: GED required Medical Assistant License required Minimum of one year of hospital/healthcare experience preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Maintains confidentiality of patients at all times Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds. Work independently, set priorities, and perform multiple tasks; embody strong problem solving and time management skills with ability to work on multiple projects at once. Exhibit effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with internal and external partners with diplomacy, tact, and discretion. Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills. Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as well as possessing the skills to lead, influence, and motivate others. Ability to work in a fast-paced, expanding organization. Knowledgeable about program evaluation, quality assurance, and/or quality improvement processes, theories, and/or models. Knowledgeable about data collection, analysis, and reporting. A strong team player who is also a self-starter with a desire to take on new challenges. Have strong computer literacy; proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis in Excel and web/data management products Physical Requirements: Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Use computer keyboard with manual and finger dexterity and wrist-finger speed sufficient to perform repetitive actions efficiently for extended periods of time. Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse population. Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing with the use of a step stool and twisting. Lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Sit or stand for minimum periods of one hour at a time. Come and go from the work area repeatedly throughout the day. Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy. Perform complex mental functions and basic arithmetic functions; interpret complex laws, regulations, and policies; collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information.
