Candidates should be currently enrolled as a college sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Environmental Sustainability, or a related business field. Strong analytical, project management, and process documentation skills are required.

The Supply Chain Sourcing Intern will lead the development of a comprehensive learning program designed to help Project Managers (PMs) and Operations Managers (OMs) evaluate waste stream treatment options and determine the appropriate next steps for analysis, outreach, and implementation. This project will leverage subject matter expertise across the organization to create practical tools, guidance materials, and a structured decision-making framework that improves consistency and efficiency in treatment method selection.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to document waste treatment methods, capabilities, requirements, and operational considerations.
Develop a learning curriculum that educates PMs and OMs on available treatment options and the circumstances under which each should be evaluated.
Create a decision tree and supporting tools that guide users through the treatment selection process, including recommended first, second, and alternative options based on waste stream characteristics.
Define the outreach, qualification, and follow-up activities required for each treatment path, including supplier engagement and operational coordination steps.
Incorporate financial analysis components into the learning program, including: treatment cost comparisons, margin impact considerations, transportation and logistics costs, revenue and profitability implications, and supplier pricing evaluation.
Develop standardized workflows and reference materials that enable consistent decision-making across the organization.
Gather feedback from PMs, OMs, and key stakeholders to validate learning content and ensure usability.
Pilot training materials and refine the program based on user feedback and business needs.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications
Required High School or Equivalent.
Preferred Bachelor's Degree and open to current college Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Supply Chain, Supply Chain and Operations Management, Environmental Sustainability, or Business related field.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to simplify complex processes into practical guidance and training materials.
Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience developing process documentation, workflows, or training programs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with cost analysis and financial evaluation.

The Heritage Group Internship Program provides hands-on, paid experiences in a corporate function or within one of our many operating companies. Interns can expect to network with other students and professionals, gain useful skills, receive mentoring, and make their own contributions to the organization. Additionally, interns can participate in our weekly hosted events focused on professional development, team building, and community service.
Intern pay is non-negotiable and is calculated based on current academic class standing $18/hour (Freshman) - $21/hour (Senior), etc.
