We're looking to bring on a motivated Trenching Apprentice to learn and grow with our team. Job Description We are seeking a hardworking, dependable Trenching Apprentice to join our crew. This is a hands-on position for someone eager to continue learning trenching, excavation, and concrete work in support of our electrical installation projects. We're looking for someone with a foundation of trenching experience who is ready to build on those skills under the guidance of our experienced crew members. Responsibilities Assist with digging and preparing trenches for underground electrical conduit and cabling Help with pouring, forming, finishing, and repairing concrete as needed Learn to operate hand tools and light equipment (e.g., trenchers, compactors, saws) Assist with backfilling and compacting trenches to code and job requirements Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety protocols Take direction from lead trench/concrete workers and project supervisors Learn to read basic site plans and job specifications over time Requirements Minimum 1 year of trenching experience preferred Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, digging, and standing for extended periods Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with a clean driving record Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment Punctual and dependable Interest in building a long-term career in the trades a plus What We Offer Competitive pay: $20.00 - $23.00/hour Full-time, steady work Hands-on training and mentorship from experienced crew members Opportunity to grow with an established contracting company American Electric Co Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
