WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FCMC Our Ultrasound Technologists perform specialized exams under the supervision of a Radiologist to diagnose, treat, and care for our patients. More specifically, some of the Ultrasound Technologists’ vital responsibilities include: Performing different types of ultrasounds ranging from OBGYN to Vascular Assisting Radiologists with complicated ultrasound biopsies Producing high quality films for Radiologists to evaluate; maintaining a high degree of accuracy in ultrasound imaging Performing quality control functions related to ultrasound Ensuring patient comfort and privacy and educating the patient regarding the exam Completing documentation Assisting in compiling and maintaining statistical data Applying professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking Participating in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills Requirements Qualifications: Completed one-to-two-year Sonography or Ultrasound Technology certification at an accredited institution Valid ARDMS, ARRT, RDCS, or RVT registration as required by state law Current CPR/BLS certification Skilled in ultrasound equipment operation Basic computer literacy Detail-oriented and able to work as a team member Willing to participate in 30 Continuing Education Units every three years Essential Job Functions: Regular and predictable attendance is required Regularly required to move or lift between 50-100 pounds using proper body mechanics Regularly required to stand for long periods with frequent squatting, twisting, bending, kneeling, and reaching to prepare equipment, materials, or objects Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination is required Must be able to work in a high-stress environment Must comply with HIPAA to protect information that is sensitive, proprietary, or confidential Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain infection control standards set by the facility Work Environment: FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients Potential exposure to blood, body tissue, fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress The Location: Located in southeast Idaho, Franklin County is surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains, giving ample opportunity for outdoor recreation.
