Welder Trainee

The Welder Trainee is an entry-level manufacturing position designed for individuals interested in developing welding skills and building a career in metal fabrication and assembly. Under the direction of experienced welders, trainers, and supervisors, the Welder Trainee will learn welding techniques, blueprint reading, safety procedures, and manufacturing processes while assisting with the production of high-quality aluminum Cabs. * BENEFITS * Work Schedule: 3 Day Weekends!  Monday - Thursday, 10-hour shifts, 5:30 am - 3:30 pm * Monthly Production Incentive, Free Employee Health Clinic, Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Life insurance, Short Term Disability, Earn up to 80 hours of PTO within the first year, 10 paid Holidays, 401(k) Program & Company Match, Quarterly Attendance Bonus Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, Wellness Benefits, Long Service Banquet, Smoking Cessation Program, Biometrics Wellness Reimbursement, Gym Reimbursement & Fitness Tracking Reimbursement, Onsite Weld Training Program, Company Christmas Party, Company Christmas Gifts, Company Annual Picnic, Annual Company Golf Outing. * RESPONSIBILITIES * Learn and apply welding techniques while following established quality standards. * Assist in the assembly and fabrication of components, subassemblies, and finished products. * Operate welding equipment, grinders, hand tools, and other production equipment in a safe manner. * Interpret basic work instructions, diagrams, and blueprints. * Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, positioning, clamping, and tack welding parts. * Perform grinding, sanding, and finishing work as needed. * Inspect completed welds and products for quality and workmanship. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. * Rotate between workstations to gain exposure to different manufacturing processes. * Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. * Participate in training programs and demonstrate continuous improvement in welding skills and product knowledge. * Communicate effectively with team members, trainers, leads, and supervisors. * REQUIRED CREDENTIALS * Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn welding and manufacturing processes. * Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations. * Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. * Strong attendance and reliability * Must be able to lift 50 lbs. * Basic experience with hand tools * Willingness to learn and accept coaching. * Strong attention to detail and quality. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Positive attitude and commitment to safety. * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. * Must be 18 years old * EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * High School diploma, GED, or currently pursuing completion * ABOUT US: * Marion Body is an independent, family owned and operated manufacturer located in Marion, Wisconsin and Shawano, Wisconsin where the company was founded in 1905 and has been in continuous operation ever since.
