2027 Summer Intern, Operations Associate (Reston, VA)

Ready to Make a Difference? ICF is seeking an Operations Associate Intern to support the Administrative Operations Services (AOS) team. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting strategic operational initiatives focused on business process improvement, AI enablement, data and reporting enhancements, and operational modernization. Working alongside AOS leaders and subject matter experts, you will contribute to projects that improve operational effectiveness, support data-driven decision-making, and advance innovative solutions across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, analytical, collaborative, and interested in the intersection of business operations, technology, data, and continuous improvement. This is an entry-level, 10-week, full time internship that begins in early June and ends in early August. This role will be hybrid from Reston, VA. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation assistance for internships at this time.    Responsibilities may include: Conducting research, benchmarking, and data analysis to support decision making Documenting business processes, workflows, and operational procedures Identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and standardization Supporting AI enablement, reporting, governance, and operational improvement initiatives Assisting with data collection, validation, and reporting activities Developing reports, dashboards, presentations, and project deliverables Participating in stakeholder meetings and tracking action items and project progress Preparing findings, recommendations, and executive-ready deliverables for leadership Basic Qualifications By the start date, completion of at least 30 college-level credit hours in Business, Operations Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, Engineering, Economics, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications A completed bachelor's degree and enrollment verification or 9 credit hours completed in a graduate program related to Business, Operations Management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Public Administration, Engineering or Economics. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Coursework or experience related to business analysis, project management, process improvement, data analytics, operations, or technology. Interest in AI, automation, operational excellence, or business transformation. Experience conducting research, collecting data, or developing presentations and reports. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint, or similar business tools. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
