Under general supervision, performs research and project work that assists the Government Relations Department. The position requires assisting senior corporate Government Relations professionals in day-to-day operations. Summarize legal and business documents, conduct research, attend and observe meetings, conference calls, and manage assigned projects.
Interface with in-house staff on research and assigned projects.
Assist preparing reports.
Prepare summaries of meetings and research.
Attend meetings and travel as requested by manager; create reports on proceedings; and analyze and organize business records.
Conduct administrative work as needed.
What You Bring To Freeport
Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree, bachelor’s or higher, majoring in Political Science, Criminal Justice, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Psychology, or a closely related field OR
Recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a degree, bachelor’s or higher, in Political Science, Criminal Justice, Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Psychology, or a closely related field.
Basic understanding of and interest in the workings of federal government and Congress.
Ability and willingness to keep department matters strictly confidential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and Zoom.
Excellent Skills to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to work in a fast-paced office and effectively work with time.
Detail-oriented and self-motivated.

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $21.00-$25.50/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on level of education and relevant experience.

What We Require:

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
