Accountant

Intermountain Farmers Association (IFA) is a regional farm supply co-op with diverse operations including feed production, agronomy services, and retail stores throughout the intermountain west. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of ACCOUNTANT at the corporate office in Salt Lake City, Utah. SUMMARY: The Accountant position will support the company's corporate accounting and finance department ensuring the accuracy of various financial records. This position is responsible for maintaining general ledger accounts and will assist in developing financial statements and reports. The person in this position will work in a collaborative team environment within a supportive corporate culture. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Assists in completing the monthly close process and ensuring journal entries and reconciliations are accurate in accordance with US GAAP and have appropriate supporting documentation Supports external audits by providing audit requests, responding to inquiries, and ensuring compliance with internal controls Reconcile cash accounts Contributes to an efficient accounting department by streamlining accounting processes and documenting procedures Analyzes financial data and effectively communicates findings and makes recommendations Responds to questions from business locations regarding accurate internal accounting and reporting in accordance with company procedures and policies Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records and reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High level of personal integrity and honesty Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, and meet deadlines Understanding of the application of US GAAP Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant software applications Excellent problem solving, project management, and communication skills Good organizational abilities and analytical skills At lease an Associate degree in accounting; Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience using SAP BENEFITS: IFA offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, vision reimbursement plan, generous 401K matching, life insurance, long-term disability, vacation time, sick time, paid holidays, employee discounts, as well many other incredible benefits.
