About the Role: The Accounting Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of the organization by managing day-to-day accounting tasks. This position ensures that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely, supporting the overall accounting department and contributing to the company’s financial health. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and managing accounts payable to ensure smooth financial operations. By performing detailed job costing and accruals, the role helps provide accurate financial data for reporting and decision-making. Collaboration with team members and other departments is essential to maintain efficient workflows and resolve any discrepancies promptly. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred. * Proven experience in bank reconciliation, accounts payable, and invoice processing. * Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management. * Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. * Experience with job costing and accrual accounting. * Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). * Experience using ERP systems or advanced accounting software. * Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or similar credentials. Responsibilities: * Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between company records and bank statements. * Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and vendor agreements. * Manage accounts payable by preparing and processing payments in a timely manner. * Maintain detailed job costing records to track expenses and project budgets accurately. * Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger to reflect financial transactions. * Reconcile accounts regularly to identify and resolve discrepancies or errors. * Assist with accruals and month-end closing activities to support accurate financial reporting. * Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth accounting operations.
