Who We Are At RJ Young, we provide business technology solutions that empower people to work smarter. For over 70 years, we’ve been a trusted partner to small businesses, organizations, and large enterprises, boosting performance through office technology, expertly managed IT services, smart security systems, and unified communications. At the core of everything we do are our values: honoring our people, supporting our customers, and promoting the communities we serve. Every product and service we offer is backed by our We Make It Right™ Guarantee. What’s the Opportunity? We’re hiring an Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist to help customers resolve past-due balances and keep accounts moving forward. This is an active, phone-based collections role—not simply sending statements or emails. You’ll manage your own group of customer accounts, make collection calls daily, track commitments, and follow through while maintaining positive customer relationships. You’ll also handle important daily payment-processing tasks. If you enjoy a structured workday, take pride in accuracy, and can balance friendly service with firm conversations, we’d like to meet you. What Will You Do? Make outbound collection calls every day to discuss past-due balances, answer questions, and encourage timely payment. Own an assigned group of customer accounts, monitor outstanding balances and credit holds, and consistently follow up without reminders. Balance collection calls with daily responsibilities such as depositing and posting A/R receipts, EFT/ACH payments, and credit card transactions. Process account adjustments and write-offs accurately and in accordance with established procedures. Maintain detailed account notes, payment histories, and collection activity records; report on account status as needed. Investigate discrepancies and work with customers and teammates to resolve account questions professionally. What Do You Bring to the Table? Reliable attendance, dependability, and a strong sense of ownership—you follow through on what you say you’ll do. Confidence making phone calls and having firm but friendly conversations about overdue payments. Strong organization and time management skills to manage a call list, account follow-ups, and daily transactions. Careful attention to detail, sound judgment, and comfort following established processes when handling financial information. A positive, coachable attitude and a collaborative approach to helping a team succeed. A high school diploma and basic computer skills, including familiarity with Windows, Word, and Excel. Experience That’s a Plus—not a Requirement Previous accounts receivable, collections, billing, banking, or customer service experience. Experience handling challenging customer conversations or negotiating payment arrangements. Experience with payment posting, ACH/EFT transactions, Excel, or ECi E-Automate. We can train the right person on our systems and processes. What matters most is your willingness to make calls, stay organized, learn, and consistently follow through. Schedule & Work Environment This is a full-time, in-office position working 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with schedule options of 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Occasional evening or weekend work may be needed during busy periods. No travel is required.
