What you'll do

  • Collaborate with site leadership to plan, develop and execute project-based youth activities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, families and school faculty
  • Coordinate specialty-area events and functions
  • Engage participants in specialty-area activities and provide encouragement and resources
  • Prepare related paperwork, materials and implementation supplies
  • Submit program and certification related documents on time

What you need

  • 2 years’ experience working with children and/or youth in your specialization
  • Exemplary supervisory skills at elementary level (middle school or high school aged youth)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently
  • Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task

Position Summary The Activity Specialist is responsible for designing and facilitating project-based learning experiences within a specialization such as dance, step and cheer. Essential Functions Collaborate with site leadership in the planning, development and execution of quality, project-based youth development activities. Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with participants, families & school faculty Coordinate events & functions in specialty area such as: showcases, home games, productions, culminating events, etc. Engage participants in specialty area activities. Provide support through encouragement and delivering resources. Prepare related paperwork, materials and implementation supplies. Timely submit all program and certification related documents. Performs other related duties as assigned. Hours Monday – Friday | 3:30PM – 5:30PM Qualifications 2 years’ experience working with children and/or youth in your specialization Exemplary supervisory skills at elementary level (middle school or high school aged youth) and aptitude for motivating people Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to plan and carry out assignments independently Ability to prioritize, adhere to timelines and multi-task The Child Center of NY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
