Description

Job Assignment: May 2027 to September 2027 Hourly Rate: $25.00 Your Challenge Assist in preparing formal Design Reports, structural calculation packages, and technical evaluations for safety-related nuclear power plant components. Perform structural, stress, and fatigue analyses for components subjected to internal/external pressure, seismic events, thermal transients, operating dynamics, and external nozzle/piping loads. Utilize ANSYS to construct finite element models, apply boundary conditions, run simulations, and post-process stress results. Review, interrogate, and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks to ensure analytical accuracy and design feasibility. Interface directly with the design engineering team to propose geometry modifications, material considerations, and structural enhancements that satisfy customer specifications and regulatory codes (e.g., ASME Section III / BPVC). Verify numerical models using classical closed-form hand calculations and engineering fundamentals. Your Skills Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline (completed sophomore or junior year preferred) with a minimum 3.3 GPA. Technical Fundamentals: Strong foundational knowledge of statics, dynamics, strength of materials, fluid/thermal dynamics, and structural mechanics. Software Tools: Prior academic or project experience using finite element software (preferably ANSYS Mechanical) and 3D parametric CAD modeling (preferably SolidWorks). Analytical Capability: Familiarity with structural load evaluation, including pressure containment, seismic response, and external mechanical loading. Communication & Documentation: Excellent technical writing and verbal skills, with the ability to clearly document assumptions, methodologies, and engineering conclusions. No unsolicited agency submittals please. Agency partners must be invited to participate in a search by our Talent Acquisition Team and have signed terms in place prior to any submittal.
