About the Role
Gap Inc. is transforming how its brands use data and AI to make faster, more precise commercial decisions, and the Analyst, Pricing Analytics is where that analytical work gets executed. This role is the analytical foundation of the GAP brand's pricing intelligence function: the person who runs the day-to-day analytics, builds models that assess the impact of pricing changes on sales, margin, and inventory, and validates outputs from pricing agents so the team has accurate, well-structured insight ready to inform pricing decisions.
Reporting to the Manager, Pricing Analytics, you will support the execution of specific pricing analytics work streams within a single brand, spanning strategic pricing principles, discount spend, and in-season performance. You will develop and run repeatable analyses, track competitive price positioning, and produce clean, accurate analysis that your manager and team bring to Merchandising, Planning, and Finance partners. This role is designed for someone who is analytically precise, curious, and eager to build their skills in an AI-enabled pricing environment. What You'll Do
Execute Pricing Analytics
Develop and execute repeatable analytics to inform the brand's pricing strategy, architecture, and tactics.
Build models to assess the impact of pricing changes on sales, margin, and inventory.
Support in-season analytics, including reconciling execution against forecasted performance and actuals and building "what if" scenarios for pricing strategies.
Support analysis of discount spend and the measurement of the brand's strategic pricing principles.
Identify opportunities to refine pricing strategies and provide actionable recommendations to cross-functional partners.
Support Competitive Price Positioning
Analyze internal and external data to guide competitive price positioning.
Track competitive price positioning, communicating how the brand is executing compared to aligned benchmarks and validating that we are "doing what we say."
Support Cross-Functional Partners
Collaborate with Merchandising and Planning teams to improve pricing processes and ensure compliance.
Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners on strategic pricing initiatives.
Support continuous process improvement and cross-functional decision-making.
Partner with the Manager, Pricing Analytics on ad-hoc pricing projects and initiatives that enhance overall pricing strategy and business performance.
Apply AI and Contribute to the Function
Apply quality checks to outputs from pricing agents, flagging inconsistencies or gaps before analysis moves forward.
Simplify and automate repeatable, value-driven processes.
Contribute to documentation of analytics processes and benchmarks as the function builds out its standards.
