About the company
Abramson Labor Group
Law practice · 51 to 200 employees
What you'll do
- As a Consumer Class Action Associate, you'll litigate class and representative actions on behalf of California consumers in state and federal court. You'll work closely with senior attorneys on case strategy while carrying real responsibility on your own matters — from pre-filing investigation through class certification, settlement, and trial. You'll be supported by an experienced team of paralegals and legal assistants. What You'll Do
- Investigate and evaluate potential consumer class claims, including false advertising, unfair business practices, data privacy, automatic renewal, warranty, and product defect matters
- Draft complaints, pre-litigation demand letters (including CLRA notices), and amended pleadings
- Research and draft motions and oppositions, including motions to dismiss, motions to compel arbitration, class certification, summary judgment, and preliminary and final settlement approval
- Develop and manage discovery: written discovery, ESI and large document productions, meet-and-confer, and discovery motions
- Prepare for, take, and defend depositions, including corporate (PMQ/30(b)(6)) witnesses
- Work with experts on damages models, consumer surveys, and technical issues
- Prepare mediation briefs and help negotiate class settlements; assist with notice and claims administration
- Communicate with class representatives and keep them informed throughout the case
- Manage a docket of deadlines and court filings with accuracy and ownership
- Track developments in California and federal consumer protection law and help identify new case opportunities
