What you'll do
- Configure, deploy and troubleshoot Windows Server Operating Systems, Windows PCs and devices
- Configure and deploy current Microsoft SQL versions
- Install Karmak proprietary software
- Work semi-independently with a high-tech team of IT professionals
- Problem-solve and interact with Customers and Vendors
- Assist with documentation of procedures as needed
- Work with QA and development to create the process to roll out new applications
What you need
- Typically 2-4 years of prior work experience installing and updating business systems
- Experience solving technical issues and working with people
- Experience with the latest Windows Server and Microsoft SQL versions
- Experience installing hardware and network communication equipment
- Understand database structures and data export
- Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software and basic networking
- PowerShell experience (preferred)

Join a dynamic team of computer professionals which support our customers across the US and Canada. The Installation Specialist is responsible for the installation of the following items with little to no assistance: Karmak software applications, supported 3rd party applications and Karmak supported hardware. This position will also work with QA and development to create the process to roll out new applications.
Essential Job Functions
Configure, deploy and troubleshoot Windows Server Operating Systems (Application, SQL, and Web), Windows PCs, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and network communication equipment
Configure and deploy current Microsoft SQL versions
Install Karmak proprietary software
Work semi-independently with the support of a high-tech team of IT professionals
Problem-solve and interact with Customers and Vendors.
Assist with documentation of procedures as needed; written communication skills helpful
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience solving technical issues and enjoy working with people
Experience with the latest Windows Server and Microsoft SQL versions
Requires prior work experience in installing and updating business systems, typically 2-4 years
Understand and have experience with installation of hardware including Dell and HP Servers, client workstations, printers, mobile devices, and network communication equipment including firewalls and smart switches
Understand database structures and data export
Have extensive knowledge of computer hardware, software, and basic networking
Solid organizational skills and experience documenting installation work
Flexible hours as required, evenings and weekends
One or more certifications required:
CompTIA A+
CompTIA Network+
CompTIA Server+ (Most desired)
A plus to have:
Have IT experience with the commercial transportation industry
PowerShell experience
SQL Experience
Associate-level Microsoft certifications focusing on hands-on Windows Server administration (2019–2025) and production SQL Server management are highly preferred.
