Associate Scientist, Lab Operations

Job Summary: Perform routine laboratory testing and analysis in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines. Document results accurately, support laboratory quality activities, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain safe and efficient operations. What You'll Be Doing: Perform and document analytical procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines Analyze routine data, identify unusual results or potential performance errors, and escalate findings to senior laboratory personnel Prepare analytical results for upload into the Laboratory Information Management System under the guidance of senior staff Prepare buffers and solutions and perform assigned calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment Assist with quality investigations, deviations, procedural updates, and the implementation of laboratory process changes Train and guide laboratory personnel in areas of demonstrated competency and support the onboarding of new team members Communicate clearly and promptly with cross-functional stakeholders and represent the laboratory team on assigned projects Support laboratory safety, quality, inventory, and 6S requirements and initiatives What We Are Looking For: A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Certain CAP/CLIA laboratory locations may require a Bachelor of Science in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology Six months of experience in a regulated laboratory environment is preferred Basic knowledge of the assigned technical area, laboratory systems, procedures, and applicable regulatory standards, such as Good Laboratory Practices Proficiency with relevant laboratory techniques, including buffer and solution preparation, equipment calibration, and equipment maintenance Experience working with laboratory automation or specialized laboratory equipment Proficiency with routine and selected non-routine laboratory calculations, including averages, means, standard deviations, batch calculations, specimen calculations, and quality control metrics Applicable certification or certifications required by country, state, or other regulatory bodies must be maintained Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role: Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, standard precautions, and hazardous chemical handling practices Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify and document unexpected or unusual results Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and collaborate effectively with internal and cross-functional stakeholders Good computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Clear written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated understanding of laboratory responsibilities Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
