The New York Foundling’s Home of Integrated Behavioral Health , located in East Harlem and Brooklyn, provides evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health treatment and services to children, young adults up to age 21, and their families. This position is part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering individualized, person-centered care to youth and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral health challenges. Training is provided in evidence-based interventions, including MAP Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MAP CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Identity & Acceptance, a holistic treatment model designed to support LGBTQIA+ youth and their families. We offer a hybrid schedule (office/remote) and supervision to support obtaining licensure. Responsibilities *UP TO $2,000 SIGN ON INCENTIVE*** ***Sign-on Bonus is not permitted for internal candidates*** This is a hybrid position with at least three days onsite required. 35 hours per week; daily schedule is flexible to accommodate families' scheduling needs (within the general clinic operating hours of 10am-8pm, Monday-Friday). The Clinical Therapist's primary role is to support clients ages 0-21 in meeting their identified goals using evidence-based models of therapeutic intervention. This includes facilitating individual, group and family therapeutic sessions as well as collaborating with other key figures involved in providing treatment. Core Responsibilities: Provide support and evidence-based treatment to an assigned caseload of children and families with individual, group, and/or family therapy to support youth in achieving therapeutic goals and increase access to quality mental health resources. Conduct thorough intakes, screenings and assessments, and create individualized treatment plans to support with diagnosing, goal formulation, and case conceptualization. Provide direct clinical crisis intervention using methods compatible with evidence based model principles to stabilize youth in crisis. Identify and address safety/risk factors including but not limited to suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, homicidal ideation, and substance abuse, including safety planning and incident reports. Maintain clear, concise and timely documentation of treatment efforts in progress notes to ensure compliance with the agency, modality, local, state, and federal guidelines related to professional and regulatory standards. Engage primary caregiver(s) and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement. Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to ensure their buy-in and alignment throughout treatment to enhance care coordination. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to enhance care coordination. Participate in all required agency, model and stakeholder trainings, individual and group coaching and staff meetings to promote clinical development and ensure effective service delivery. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related subject area. At minimum must hold a provisional license (LP-MHC, LMSW, LMHC, and/or LCSW). All provisionally licensed clinicians are expected to participate in clinical license supervision. Experience with common clinical problems including general knowledge of DSM-5 diagnoses (e.g., child abuse and neglect, aggression, family conflict, depression, anxiety, drug use, traumatic events, truancy) and diverse populations served. Preferred strong understanding and the ability to implement the following: risk and safety assessment, safety planning, trauma assessment, crisis management, incident reporting, treatment planning, and HIPAA policies An understanding and commitment to complying with the New York State Central Register of Abuse and Neglect protocol (requiring staff to comply with requirements to report any suspected abuse, maltreatment or neglect) Experience with and willingness to work with culturally diverse population. Effective verbal and written skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills and a need for flexibility. General computer literacy; including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email.
