What you'll do
- Accurately enter information into the EMR system (Athena)
- Support billing operations including claim correction and documentation
- Perform insurance eligibility and verification
- Manage outstanding AR workflows, including patient balances and insurance follow-up
- Communicate with billing staff and insurance companies as needed
- Provide additional administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality
What you need
- Experience in medical billing required
- Prior experience in medical billing, coding or outstanding AR
- Familiarity with all major payer types, including commercial, Medicare and Medicaid
- Proficient in using multiple platforms for eligibility checks, claim submission, and insurance portal navigation
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team

The Billing Specialist is responsible for entering patient and visit information with precision, supporting billing operations, and assisting with claim processing. Experience in medical billing required.
