Overview GRIMMWAY PRODUCE GROUP ARVIN, CALIFORNIA JOB TITLE: BUSINESS SYSTEMS INTERNSHIP LOCATION: BAKERSFIELD AREA REPORTS TO: DEPARTMENT MANAGER PURPOSE: The Business Systems Internship is designed to provide undergraduate, post-graduate, and graduate-level students pursuing relevant fields of study with meaningful, hands-on experience that complements their academic and career interests. Interns gain exposure to real-world business systems and operations through day-to-day responsibilities, department-specific projects, and professional development opportunities. The paid summer internship typically runs 10–12 weeks between May and August, with support available for students seeking college credit. Additional Info MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in or recently completed an undergraduate, post-graduate, or graduate-level program in Business Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or another related field of study. Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment sponsorship. Demonstrated interest in business systems, technology, data, process improvement, or business operations. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn new systems, software, and business processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a professional environment. Reliable transportation to assigned work location(s) as required. Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets company policy, insurance, and DMV requirements. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment screening consistent with applicable state and federal law. Ability to participate in the 10–12 week summer internship program and Student Programs development activities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Support various Business Systems functions and day-to-day activities based on department and manager needs. Complete assigned projects and tasks both independently and collaboratively with Business Systems team members and cross-functional partners. Assist with the maintenance, configuration, and updating of business systems and related documentation. Support the research and troubleshooting of system-related issues and user requests, escalating issues as appropriate. Participate in system testing, including updates, patches, enhancements, new functionality, and module implementations. Assist with data entry, validation, analysis, and reporting to support system accuracy and business needs. Assist with documenting business processes, system requirements, workflows, and procedures. Support the identification and evaluation of process and system improvement opportunities. Collaborate with business users to better understand operational needs and how systems support business processes. Assist with special projects and other Business Systems initiatives as assigned. Participate in Student Programs-sponsored professional development events throughout the summer internship. Serve as a site representative in support of the annual Back-to-School Drive.
