Are you mechanically inclined, enjoy troubleshooting equipment, and take pride in figuring out how things work? Are you looking for an opportunity where you can continue developing your technical skills and advance your career? Ohio Gratings is looking for mechanically talented individuals to join our Press Weld Technical Operations team and develop into specialized Clifford Mechanical Technicians. This is more than a traditional maintenance position. It's an opportunity to build specialized expertise in industrial manufacturing equipment through hands-on training, technical development, and a clearly defined career progression. What Makes This Opportunity Different? At Ohio Gratings, we recognize that strong mechanical talent comes from a variety of backgrounds. Whether your experience is in industrial maintenance, millwright work, machine building, heavy equipment, fabrication, or mechanical repair, we are interested in individuals who have strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn. You don't need to be a Clifford equipment expert on day one. We are looking for individuals who are mechanically capable, curious, dependable, and motivated to develop their skills. You'll have the opportunity to: Develop specialized technical expertise in Clifford Press Weld equipment, mechanical systems, and associated shears. Learn through hands-on experience alongside experienced technicians, progressing from component rebuilds to advanced mechanical troubleshooting. Build a long-term career through a structured, competency-based development program with four levels of advancement. Solve challenging mechanical problems involving hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, bearings, tooling, and precision alignment. Make a meaningful impact by improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting manufacturing operations. Become a technical leader with opportunities to mentor developing technicians, lead complex repairs, and contribute to equipment improvements. Your Career Growth We believe career advancement should be based on what you know, what you can do, and your demonstrated ability to take on greater responsibility. Our Clifford Mechanical career path provides opportunities to progress through four levels: Level 1 – Clifford Mechanical Associate Develop foundational mechanical skills through supervised repairs, inspections, component work, and equipment rebuilds. Level 2 – Clifford Mechanical Technician Build independence in routine mechanical repairs, planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and subsystem rebuilds. Level 3 – Clifford Equipment Technician Become qualified to independently diagnose and repair Clifford equipment, perform precision alignments, and lead major mechanical repairs. Level 4 – Senior Clifford Reliability Technician Serve as a mechanical subject matter expert, lead complex troubleshooting and major rebuilds, improve equipment reliability, and mentor other technicians. Advancement is based on demonstrated technical competency, providing a clear path to increased responsibility and professional growth. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has strong mechanical aptitude and enjoys hands-on troubleshooting. Understands mechanical systems and is interested in learning specialized manufacturing equipment. Has experience with industrial maintenance, heavy equipment, machine repair, fabrication, or related mechanical work. Takes pride in solving problems and completing quality repairs. Values safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Is dependable, motivated, and willing to learn from experienced technicians. Wants to build a long-term career rather than simply find another job. Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, mechanical drives, welding, machining, or precision measuring tools is a plus.
