About the company
Buck Institute for Research on Aging
Research · 51 to 200 employees
Our success will ultimately change healthcare. At the Buck, we aim to end the threat of age-related diseases for this and future generations by bringing together the most capable and passionate scientists from a broad range of disciplines to identify and impede the ways in which we age. We are an independent, non-profit institution located in Marin County, CA, with the goal of increasing human healthspan, or the healthy years of life. Globally recognized as the pioneer and leader in efforts to target aging—the number one risk factor for diseases including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cancer, macular degeneration, heart disease, and diabetes—the Buck seeks to help people live better longer.
What you'll do
- Rebook and confirm participant study visits, coordinating between participants, study nurses, and the clinical team. Keep visit schedules up to date and send reminders.
- Send Labcorp results to the study Medical Officers for review. Track each result and follow up promptly if no reply is received, escalating to the study team when needed so that no result is left unreviewed.
- Prepare and send redacted lab reports and study data to participants, checking that each document is accurate, correctly redacted and sent to the right person.
- Carry out regular quality control (QC) checks of study data in REDCap. Identify missing, inconsistent or out-of-range entries, resolve queries with the study team and document corrections.
- File and organize signed consent forms and other participant documents (paper and electronic), checking for completeness (correct version, signatures and dates) and flagging any issues.
- Prepare and label sample collection tubes and kits ahead of study visits, following study protocols and SOPs. Check that labels match the participant ID and visit and keep accurate sample and supply logs.
- Help manage supplies and inventory: monitor stock levels, place orders, receive and put away deliveries, and make sure supplies are ready for upcoming visits.
- Communicate regularly with the study team about scheduling, data and supply issues, and raise problems early.
- Maintain confidentiality of all participant records, including written and verbal communications.
