About the company

Opine

Internet · 2 to 10 employees

Opine is the agentic deal engineer for complex sales. Every team, tool, and opportunity, updated in real time on one platform. Teams at Gainsight, Tailscale, Orca Security, Socket, Saviynt and Docker use it to run the deals that actually move their number. We're a small, founder-led team in Durham with a big vision and zero patience for corporate fluff. If you want to own something real and see your work show up in pipeline, you'll fit right in.

What you'll do

  • Own the event calendar end to end. Conferences, sponsorships, field events, executive dinners, roundtables, virtual sessions. Dates, owners, budgets, deadlines, all of it.
  • Run the logistics nobody notices until they go wrong: venues, catering, AV, shipping, swag, booth builds, plus travel and lodging for the team.
  • Treat every sponsorship like the contract it is. Track each deliverable we paid for (passes, speaking slots, logo placement, attendee lists) and chase down anything we didn't get.
  • Keep the money straight. Vendor contracts, invoices, budgets, and committed vs. actual spend for every event.
  • Build guest lists with sales, run invites and RSVPs, and get the right people in the room. Not just the most people.
  • Send our team in prepared: who's attending, who we want to meet and why, run of show, talking points.
  • Close the loop fast. Leads and conversation notes land in HubSpot while people still remember meeting us, and sales knows exactly who to follow up with.
  • Keep the community warm between events with dinners, meetups, customer roundtables, and the small touches that make people feel like insiders.
  • Report on what worked: spend, show rate, ICP conversations, pipeline influenced. Then make an honest call on whether we go back.

What you need

  • 2+ years in event coordination, field marketing, or community
  • Relentlessly organized
  • Can negotiate with venues and vendors
  • Comfortable with spreadsheets, budgets, and a CRM
  • Write clearly and quickly
  • Up for real travel and the occasional late night
  • Built a community from scratch, online or IRL (preferred)
  • Run international events (preferred)

Location: Durham, NC · In office · Full-time · Local to the Triangle or willing to relocate Reports to: Nate Meadows, Head of Marketing Travel: Roughly 25 to 35% or more during peak event season About the Role Our best deals don't start with a form fill. They start at a dinner table, in a conference hallway, at an after party where a CRO finally says out loud what's broken in their sales process. You'll own the machine that makes those moments happen. Reporting directly to Nate Meadows, our Head of Marketing, you'll run every event Opine attends, sponsors, or hosts. Flagship conferences like Pavilion's GTM2026 in New York and Demofest in London. Small executive dinners that quietly turn into pipeline. Virtual sessions, roundtables, customer meetups. You'll also help build the community around Opine: the CROs, SE leaders, RevOps pros and sales managers who keep coming back because the room is worth being in. This isn't a "book the booth and order the swag" job. We judge events on cost per ICP conversation, not badge scans. You'll help us know which events earned a spot on next year's calendar and which ones didn't. What You'll Do Own the event calendar end to end. Conferences, sponsorships, field events, executive dinners, roundtables, virtual sessions. Dates, owners, budgets, deadlines, all of it. Report on what worked: spend, show rate, ICP conversations, pipeline influenced. Then make an honest call on whether we go back. In Your First Six Months Every event on the calendar has an owner, a budget, a prep plan and a follow-up plan. Event leads hit HubSpot within two business days, every time. We have a repeatable executive dinner playbook we can run in any city on three weeks' notice. You can tell us which events to cut next year, with the numbers to back it up. You Might Be a Fit If You Have 2+ years in event coordination, field marketing, or community, ideally at a B2B SaaS startup (4+ is even better) Have run both a big conference sponsorship and an intimate dinner, and know they're completely different jobs Are relentlessly organized. Nothing slips through the cracks because you don't let it Can negotiate with venues and vendors without getting pushed around Are comfortable living in spreadsheets, budgets, and a CRM Stay calm when the booth shipment is lost, the projector is dead, and doors open in an hour Write clearly and quickly: invites, briefing docs, follow-up emails, Slack updates Are up for real travel and the occasional late night. Events happen when they happen Bonus Points You've built a community from scratch, online or IRL You know the GTM event circuit: Pavilion, SaaStr, Consensus and the rest You've run international events and know what time zones, VAT, and GDPR do to a plan You use AI to do in an hour what used to take a day. We run our events out of a tool we built ourselves, and you'll help shape what it does next You've worked in CRM like Hubspot and Salesforce Why Opine Opine is the agentic deal engineer for complex sales. What We Offer Competitive salary. Pay that matches your experience and the scope of the role. Relocation support. We'll cover the cost to move you to Raleigh/Durham so you can work closely with the team. A collaborative, high-velocity venture. You'll be deeply embedded in early product and business decisions, with deep entrepreneurial roots all around you. Lightheartedness and humor. We take the business seriously. We don't take ourselves seriously.
