What you need
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field Strong Python and SQL skills. A foundation in machine learning and statistics. Hands-on project work with LLMs, data pipelines, or analytics (class, research, internship, or personal projects all count). The ability to explain technical work in plain language. Preferred: Experience with LLM frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, or agentic workflows. Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms, Docker, or APIs. Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools. An interest in engineering, infrastructure, or GIS data.

AMT, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to work out of our Rockville, MD office. You’ll be AMT’s first Data Scientist, a ground-floor role on our Technology team reporting to the Director of Technology. We’ll teach you how an engineering firm runs, from projects and proposals to finances and field work. You’ll bring the ML and AI skills to turn that knowledge into real tools. Your work will be visible to leadership and will help shape AMT’s AI strategy.
