Data Scientist

Data Scientist- ICF is looking for a candidate with foundational skills in statistics, machine learning, predictive modeling, and data engineering to join our team. In addition, you will help develop AI-driven pilot projects and perform data analyses summarizing trends and modeling impacts for both internal and external clients. What you’ll be doing: Develop data pipelines and AI/ML solutions that address client problems, maximize efficiency, and maintain high standards of quality. Design and develop statistical analyses, visualize the output of statistical models, present and interpret the output of predictive models, and perform quality assurance tasks on model code and output. Identify important and interesting questions about large datasets, then translate those questions into concrete analytical tasks. Build quantitative models with data and communicate the results of those models to stakeholders Help conceptualize and perform data analyses to summarize trends Develop and execute database queries to support the development and formatting of modeling inputs. What you must have: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline. US Citizenship due to federal contract requirements. Ability to obtain Public Trust due to Government Contract. What we’d like you to have: Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Experience with quantitative analysis and statistical programming using tools such as Python, R, SAS, or SQL. Experience applying machine learning techniques, including NLP, anomaly detection, graph analytics, or deep learning. Experience with cloud-based data and AI platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Experience with Generative AI, large language models (LLMs), or AI-enabled applications. Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and relational databases. Experience with data visualization and storytelling tools such as Tableau, Shiny, or Bokeh. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated initiative. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and perform effectively in a fast-paced team environment. The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is : $81,147.00 - $137,949.00 California Remote Office (CA99)
