Diesel Mechanic

The Basics Location: Statesville, NC Compensation: $24/hr and up Days/Hours: This is a day shift job, 7am to 4pm, Monday thru Friday. Overtime available with the potential for weekend hours as necessary. Candidate must be able to meet the demands of a rotating on call schedule as well. This will include, but not be limited to: Perform heavy and minor repairs on all trucks and trailers Service trucks: fuel, grease, and change oil; actively look for needed repairs Maintain shop cleanliness and parts inventory Utilize computer based diagnostic system, skills, knowledge, and experience to determine what repairs need to be done. Participate in Bartlett’s Safety program and help maintain a safe and clean work environment Travel: Ability to travel between both North Carolina locations as needed (potentially once per month). On-Call Availability : Participation in an on-call rotation at least once per month, including availability or after-hours support and emergencies. Requirements to be successful in this position: CDL preferred, but not required Ability to read, write, speak and understand English Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications) Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen Here are some of the physical requirements for this role: This job can be physically strenuous You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces You will work at heights You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more This job will require the ability to ascend/descend ladders You will be required to wear PPE
