Assist with personal care needs, provide supervision, and act as a role model to clients who reside in a group home setting or out in the community. Assist clients in their day-to-day routines and teach them skills necessary to achieve their maximum potential as defined in their care plans. The Direct Support Professional will help in maintaining the household including, but not limited to, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning and shopping. Serve as a positive liaison between outside service providers, parents, and others who have a relationship with clients. Provide transportation for program needs/recreational activities. The Direct Support Professional is someone who enjoys creating and maintaining a meaningful environment to help others live their best possible life. This program works one on one with individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilities going out into the community for group activities. Schedule: Mon-Fri hours vary Qualifications Must be 21 years old. Possess a valid NYS driver's license with 4 points or less. Use of personal vehicle required. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred. NYS background checks required.
