DMI Companies Work Experience/Cooperative Education (Co-op) Location: 1502 Industrial Drive, Monongahela, PA 15063 Looking to gain real world experience while exploring a career in manufacturing? Program Overview DMI partners with local schools to provide career exploration and development opportunities for students. Those who exhibit a strong interest in and aptitude for manufacturing-related pathways may apply for a work experience/co-op position at DMI to further develop their skills. What Will You Do A work experience/co-op is a paid position where the student works no more than 40 hours per week while attending school. The student will be trained by skilled manufacturing workers and will learn a variety of technical and workplace skills necessary to be successful in manufacturing. Students will gain experience working in a fast paced environment, building teamwork and safety awareness, and operating a variety of manufacturing equipment. Work experience/co-op students who perform union functions are required to join the SMART union. Age restrictions apply. Key Responsibilities Learn from skilled manufacturing workers through hands on training Assemble sheet metal components using tools and equipment Operate machinery and follow safety procedures Develop technical and workplace readiness skills Meet school and co-op program requirements while working up to 40 hrs/week Key Requirements Enrolled in a high school or CTC/CTE program Reliable, motivated, and safety-conscious Interest in manufacturing or related fields Basic math skills, including fractions and tape measure reading Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
