Driver Recruiter — Independent Contractor Drivers
Excel Courier | Salary, Exempt | Full-time | On-site work hours M-F 0800 - 1700
What This Is
This is an operational recruiting role at the center of a high-volume, on-demand courier operation. You are the supply line for our driver network: when operations needs coverage, you are the person who makes it happen. You'll own the full cycle — sourcing, vetting, and managing the pipeline for independent contractor drivers, working hand-in-hand with operations to keep routes covered every single day. It's fast, it's measurable, and your work has an immediate, visible impact on whether deliveries happen. Our operations runs 24/7/365.
What This Is Not
This is not staff recruiting. This is one position — not a corporate hiring funnel with a weeks-long cycle. You are recruiting independent contractor drivers — a workforce with inherently high turnover — and your success is measured by one thing: when operations asks for specific drivers, with specific vehicle types, in specific locations, you deliver them within days of the ask. That means maintaining an active pipeline at all times, deep enough to cover today's demand and tomorrow's.
The Role
The Driver Recruiter is responsible for contacting and vetting prospective independent contractor drivers in accordance with the needs of operations, maintaining a pipeline of prospects sufficient to supply drivers in the right quantity, vehicle type, location, and availability.
Day to day, you will:
Review applications and match prospects to real operational needs
Inform prospects of work details — duties, settlement, schedules, and working conditions
Select qualified prospects and schedule orientations
Develop and execute recruiting strategies for current and anticipated need
Listen actively, ask the right questions, and use strong interpersonal skills and insight to identify ideal prospects
What You Need
Experience recruiting IC drivers in a high-volume driver recruiting operation — you know the churn cycle, you know what keeps a pipeline full, and you recruit at operational speed
Comfort in a fast-paced environment with frequent problem-solving, shifting priorities, and stressful situations handled professionally
Strong consultative and communication skills
Helpful: Working knowledge of Keysoft Xcelerator and HubSpot
Experience working with a diverse population
