Early Career Civil Engineer

THIS OPPORTUNITY WSP is looking for a full-time, Early Career Civil Transportation Engineer for our Albuquerque office. Tasks may include assistance with research, concept development, design, and construction of transportation civil infrastructure.   YOUR IMPACT * Assist and support design teams in the execution of project delivery * Provide technical input during various stages of projects, including preliminary design, final design, construction and contract documentation including cost estimates and specifications * Perform basic design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) to develop conceptual transportation projects in AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads * Perform standard computations and analysis * Discuss and propose solutions to technical issues * Collect data and gather information or documents * Bring fresh ideas and innovative ways to solve problems * Attend design meetings and coordinate with team members * Develop memorandums and other written technical documents * Maintain positive team relationships and contribute to a collaborative culture * Assist and coordinate with key staff across disciplines (i.e. drainage, structures) as required * Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. * Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. WHO YOU ARE Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline. * 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience. * Engineer in Training Certification (or ability to obtain one in 6 months). * Great interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others. * Self-starter with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. * Desire to learn and develop skill set. * Passion for improving transportation systems. * Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives. * Basic proficiency with technical writing, software, technology, and tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams. * Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. * Uphold workplace safety and abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. * Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. * Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
