The Indianola Fire Department is currently hiring Part-Time EMTs!rnThe City of Indianola (pop. 14,278) is a growing community with a historic downtown, located approximately 15 minutes south of Des Moines. It is a safe community with Midwestern values, friendly people, and excellent schools. Indianola, which is home to Simpson College, the world-renowned Des Moines Metro Opera, the National Balloon Museum, and the U.S. Ballooning Hall of Fame, is known for its excellent access to outdoor activities, a nice trail system, five major parks, and two golf courses. The community welcomes thousands of visitors annually who come to Indianola to enjoy major events such as the National Balloon Classic, the Warren County Fair, and other events. rnThis position is responsible for a number of tasks, including, but not limited to:rnrnResponds to the scene of Fire and EMS-related emergencies to save lives, and property, and preserve the environment.rnPerforms fire suppression and EMS duties using related equipment as required, under the direction of the Fire Department\'s structure (chain of command), and Fire Department Standard Operating Guidelines.rnPerforms appropriate, Basic and Advanced levels of pre-hospital care for sick and injured patients, per protocols at the direction of the Indianola Fire Department Medical Director.rnWill successfully complete the American Integrated Training Systems EVOC. rnrnThe successful candidate will have:rnrnHigh school diploma or GED.rnMust possess a valid Iowa Class-B, CDL license.rnMust have a good driving record and meet any requirements the City\'s insurance carrier may require.rnMust maintain current Iowa EMS certification and be in good standing with the Iowa Bureau of EMS (BETS) to provide patient care in Iowa.rnMust be in good physical condition, and capable of working for long periods in extreme environmental conditions.rnrn*** View the job description attached for full list of duties and qualifications ***rnStarting salary is $24.11.
