What Future Entry-Level Opportunities May Include While specific responsibilities will vary by site, study, and future opportunity, entry-level clinical research professionals may have the opportunity to: Support clinical research studies and participant visits under appropriate supervision. Assist with participant flow, including greeting participants, rooming, and preparing for study visits. Support data collection and clinical research documentation. Assist with organizing study materials, supplies, and visit documentation. Apply existing knowledge of clinical procedures such as vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and specimen processing, as appropriate to the role. Support laboratory and specimen-related workflows. Build upon an existing understanding of how clinical research protocols are implemented in a real-world research environment. Apply and further develop knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Documentation Practices, SOPs, and regulatory requirements. Interact with study participants and contribute to a positive, patient-centered experience. Work alongside Clinical Research Coordinators, investigators, and other research professionals. Gain additional experience with clinical research systems, documentation platforms, and study workflows. Continue developing the skills and experience needed to grow within clinical research.
