Flowserve is seeking an End User (EU) Sales Engineer to lead commercial and technical growth across Montana, Northern Wyoming, and Western North Dakota. Based out of Billings, MT (preferred) or Casper, WY, you will act as the trusted technical advisor for our engineered rotating equipment portfolio—focusing extensively on mechanical seals, seal support systems, and industrial centrifugal pumps.
In this high-impact, territory-ownership role, you will balance direct customer relationships with strategic industrial distribution channel management. You will partner directly with plant reliability leaders, maintenance superintendents, and operations teams across the refining, chemical, and industrial processing sectors. Whether diagnosing rotating equipment bad actors, sizing advanced mechanical seal upgrades, or delivering comprehensive aftermarket pump packages, your expertise will directly improve plant reliability, reduce total cost of ownership (TCO), and expand Flowserve's footprint across the Northern Rockies.
Key Responsibilities
Own and exceed bookings, revenue, and market share objectives across direct end-user accounts and authorized distributor networks throughout the assigned regional territory.
Act as the technical consultant on site, partnering directly with plant maintenance, reliability engineering, and procurement to diagnose equipment failures, eliminate recurring pump/seal issues, and optimize asset run-time.
Collaborate with industrial distribution partners through joint end-user sales calls, inventory planning, technical product training, and competitive replacement strategies.
Lead technical scoping and application selection for mechanical seals, API 682 seal auxiliary support plans, and API 610/ANSI centrifugal pump systems.
Manage the full commercial sales lifecycle from opportunity identification and job walks to quote preparation, technical presentations, commercial closing, and after-sale field support.
Coordinate with internal application engineering, Quick Response Center (QRC) repair facilities, and customer service teams to deliver fast turnaround proposals and reliable project execution.
Maintain high visibility across the territory through regular on-site plant visits across Montana, Northern Wyoming, and Western North Dakota.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2+ years of technical sales, application engineering, or field reliability/service experience focused on mechanical seals, industrial centrifugal pumps, or adjacent rotating equipment (compressors, blowers, industrial mixers).
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field—OR equivalent practical hands-on technical sales experience in rotating equipment and fluid flow systems.
Demonstrated success navigating industrial distribution channels, direct end-user maintenance/reliability sales, or a hybrid sales model.
Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Billings, MT or Casper, WY, with the ability to manage regional territory travel.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of API 682 standard piping plans, mechanical seal failure analysis, and cartridge seal conversions.
Strong familiarization with API 610, ASME/ANSI B73.1, or heavy-duty industrial slurry/process pumps.
Established commercial relationships across refining, petrochemical, power, or mining operations across the Northern Rockies.
Prior experience utilizing CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and digital pump/seal sizing software.
