Company Description Background Since 1976, St. Joseph Center has been meeting the needs of low-income and homeless individuals and families in Venice, Santa Monica, Mar Vista, and surrounding communities. The Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization that assists people without regard for religious affiliation or lack thereof through comprehensive case management and integrated social service programs. The Center enjoys broad-based community support as well as a sponsored relationship with its founders, the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. St. Joseph Center serves approximately 6,000 individuals annually. Brief Description of Principal Activities Multifaceted intervention, prevention, and education services are carried out at four sites on the Westside of Los Angeles. St. Joseph Center’s integrated programs provide clients with concentrated and coordinated access to services according to the nature of their needs. Job Description ABOUT THE ROLE The Facilities Specialist performs cleaning, sanitation, groundskeeping, basic maintenance, waste removal, and other facility-support activities across participant, staff, partner, and common areas. WHAT YOU’LL DO Clean, sanitize, restock, and maintain interior and exterior campus areas, including restrooms, common areas, entrances, and sidewalks. Collect waste and safely handle sharps and other potentially hazardous materials in accordance with training and PPE requirements. Perform routine visual inspections and minor maintenance and promptly report repairs or building-system concerns requiring specialized support. Support room setups, deliveries, supply organization, and coordination with Facilities leadership, vendors, and other campus teams. Qualifications WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in facilities, custodial or environmental services, building maintenance, property operations, groundskeeping, or a related field preferred. Experience with commercial cleaning, exterior maintenance, basic repairs, or cleaning equipment preferred. Reliable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work respectfully with participants and campus partners.
