The Facilities & Yard Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the building exterior, yard, and warehouse areas.
This role involves performing daily walkthroughs, operating a forklift, and coordinating with departments to ensure equipment and materials are properly stored.
What you need
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and a current forklift certification.
The role requires the ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work, lift up to 50 pounds, and demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable, hands-on, and highly organized Facilities & Yard Associate to take ownership of maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of our building exterior, yard, outdoor warehouse areas, and surrounding facilities.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping a workplace clean, safe, and organized without needing constant direction. We need someone who is proactive, takes initiative, identifies problems before they become bigger issues, and isn't afraid to speak up or address concerns directly.
The right candidate will not simply walk past misplaced equipment, materials, or maintenance issues. Instead, they will take action, find solutions, identify the appropriate owners of items left behind, and follow through to ensure everything is properly addressed. This position also requires someone who is comfortable communicating with different departments, reinforcing organizational expectations, and respectfully holding others accountable for maintaining shared spaces.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Facility & Yard Maintenance
* Take ownership of the overall cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the building's outdoor areas, yard, backyard, and warehouse exterior.
* Perform daily walkthroughs to identify areas requiring cleaning, organization, maintenance, or immediate attention.
* Keep all outdoor spaces, storage areas, walkways, and work zones clean, safe, and free of unnecessary clutter.
* Ensure equipment, tools, materials, and other items are properly stored in their designated locations.
* Identify and address potential safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or areas requiring improvement.

* Help maintain a professional, organized, and presentable facility at all times.
Organization & Accountability
* Take initiative in identifying items left behind, misplaced, or improperly stored throughout the yard and outdoor facilities.
* Take initiative to locate the correct owner or department responsible for misplaced items and ensure they are returned to their designated locations.
* Follow up with individuals responsible for items left out of place to ensure they are properly stored or removed.
* Work with department managers and team members to establish designated storage locations for equipment, materials, and supplies.
* Address recurring cleanliness or organizational issues directly rather than overlooking them or allowing them to continue.
* Communicate directly with team members and management regarding housekeeping, organization, and maintenance concerns.
* Follow through on outstanding issues until they are fully resolved.
General Facility & Operational Support
* Assist with basic facility upkeep and minor maintenance tasks within the scope of the position.
* Safely operate a forklift to move, organize, and properly store materials and equipment.
* Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and organizing equipment and supplies as needed.
* Support warehouse, production, and other departments when additional assistance is required.
* Help prepare outdoor areas for deliveries, equipment movement, and operational activities.
* Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications:
* Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
* Current forklift certification required.
* Previous experience in facilities maintenance, yard operations, warehouse organization, property upkeep, or a similar hands-on role preferred.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Comfortable communicating directly with employees, supervisors, and management.
* Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and follow through until issues are resolved.
* Willingness to perform physical work outdoors throughout the workday.
* Dependable, punctual, and able to manage daily priorities effectively.
* Ability to adapt and assist in other areas of the business as operational needs change.
* Familiarity with workplace safety practices and proper material storage preferred.
* Candidates located in or near Long Beach are preferred.

* Ability to safely operate forklifts and other approved warehouse equipment.
* Ability to perform physically demanding cleaning, organizing, and material-handling tasks.
* Ability to move throughout warehouse, yard, and outdoor facility areas for extended periods.
