About the company

Public Citizen

Public policy · 51 to 200 employees

Public Citizen’s energy team is focused on holding energy corporations accountable to the public interest; advocating that our energy markets and energy production, transportation and delivery are maximized for energy affordability and sustainability; watchdogging Trump Administration abuses; highlighting harms from record U.S. fossil fuel exports; and supporting energy justice initiatives that shield working families from regressive energy burdens. To achieve these goals, we are active before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission advocating on behalf of households on an array of Federal Power Act and Natural Gas Act proceedings; frequently intervene in U.S. Department of Energy gas and power export dockets; participate in Regional Transmission Organization stakeholder proceedings; work with Congress to develop legislation and serve as a witness for hearings; develop communications strategies to ensure journalists include our perspective; and work closely with allied organizations and grassroots groups to build coalitions to promote our energy affordability and corporate accountability agenda.
