What you'll do
- Design fire alarm systems for commercial, institutional, and other building projects.
- Prepare fire alarm drawings, plans, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, including NFPA 72 and California Building and Fire Codes.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers.
- Respond to plan-check comments and assist with permitting and project coordination.
- Support projects from initial design through construction.
- Qualifications:
- Experience designing fire alarm systems for building projects.
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 and applicable fire and life safety codes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus.
- Ability to prepare accurate drawings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Engineering degree, NICET certification, or Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.
- Experience with California projects is preferred.
