Fleet Clerk – Rental Vehicle Operations

Description We are looking for a Fleet Clerk to help keep our rental vehicles organized, maintained, and ready for customers at Salt Lake City International Airport. This hands-on position is an important part of our rental car and fleet operations, working behind the scenes to make sure vehicles are available when and where they are needed. The right candidate enjoys staying active, working outdoors, paying attention to details, and taking pride in keeping vehicles in excellent condition. This position is well suited for someone with experience in fleet operations, vehicle detailing, automotive service, transportation, logistics, or rental car operations, as well as candidates who are interested in learning the industry. Vehicle Care & Readiness Clean, vacuum, and prepare rental cars for their next customer Wash and maintain the interior and exterior appearance of vehicles Refuel vehicles and check basic fluid levels, including oil, coolant, and windshield washer fluid Walk around vehicles to identify new damage, safety concerns, or maintenance issues Document and communicate vehicle condition concerns to the appropriate team members Make sure vehicles meet company standards before being placed back into rental service Fleet & Lot Operations Move and park cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans throughout the airport rental facility Organize vehicles according to fleet availability and operational needs Help maintain an orderly, clean, and safe vehicle lot Assist with vehicle inventory counts, lot inspections, and fleet audits Help manage the flow of vehicles during high-volume periods Assist with removing snow, ice, debris, and other materials from vehicles and work areas as needed Transportation & Team Support Drive vehicles between the airport, rental branches, service facilities, and other company locations Assist with vehicle check-in and check-out procedures Communicate vehicle availability, damage, maintenance needs, and other concerns to operations and service personnel Work with the rental and fleet teams to keep vehicles moving efficiently through the operation Perform additional fleet-related tasks as needed What We Offer Bi-weekly hourly pay Vacation, paid time off, and holiday pay Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance available after 60 days Flexible Spending Account (FSA) option 401(k) retirement plan with company match Opportunities for advancement and career development Hands-on training and opportunities to build new skills We are looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in an active environment. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on fleet operations and vehicle service position. The job requires: Standing and walking for extended periods Frequent bending, reaching, and moving around vehicles Repeatedly getting in and out of vehicles Working outdoors for portions of the shift Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds Ability to safely operate and reposition vehicles throughout the workday About the Role Every rental depends on having a clean, inspected, and available vehicle ready when the customer arrives. As a Fleet Clerk, you will help make that happen. Your work directly supports our airport rental operation by keeping vehicles moving through cleaning, inspection, fueling, maintenance, and rental readiness. Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred Valid Utah driver's license and acceptable driving history Comfortable operating different types of vehicles, including cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans Able to work independently while also communicating effectively with a team Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures Reliable and able to maintain productivity in a fast-moving operation Willing to work outdoors in changing Utah weather, including heat, cold, snow, and rain Availability for flexible scheduling, including weekends, evenings, and holidays Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening
