Full Stack Java Developer

Preferred Risk Insurance Services is a member of the Warrior Invictus family of companies. We have a number of different entities including Insurance Companies and Agencies. We are looking to add an experienced, motivated and energetic individual to enhance our Online Systems/Web Development team. We're looking to modernize our application suite with a best of breed modern toolset on a cloud based platform that perform and scales as needed as the business grows. Our immediate and long term strategies include embracing an open source, cloud based infrastructure, leveraging modern tools & techniques and improving our development and deployments through best practices and tools. We are currently developing a new cloud based website on a new architecture and will look to migrate all existing websites, integrations and services to the new architecture. This person will have a tremendous opportunity to advance their career with hands-on participation in the design, development and maintenance of all enterprise wide websites, cloud based services and related technologies. You will play a key role in design, development and enhancement of our standards and workflow for all future projects. Responsibilities Design and develop robust, highly-scalable software, web applications and services Provide input in discussions of architecture and scalability Participate in code reviews with your peers Participate in the development of code standards, management, tools and workflow Requirements 2+ years of production Ruby on Rails or Node.js experience 2+ years of experience with JS frameworks like React, Angular, etc. Strong foundational knowledge of REST APIs Experience with modern version control (esp. Git), and their relevant workflows Experience with testing frameworks like Rspec, Mocha, Jest, etc. Agile workflow experience Experience documenting code and maintaining documentation High level of personal and professional integrity Ability to share and mentor others on the team Ability to research, prototype and implement new solutions Tools & technologies we use: Ruby on Rails React Postgres, SQL Redis Elasticsearch gRPC Kubernetes / Docker Digital Ocean or other Cloud experience (Azure, AWS etc.) Title: "Full Stack Developer" Job Type: Full-time, on location Monday-Friday Location: Bedford Park, IL Pay: Commensurate with experience
