Are you a mechanic, small engine technician, marine mechanic, maintenance technician, or service professional looking for steady, year-round work without having to commute to a shop every morning?
No generator experience required. We will train candidates with automotive, diesel, powersports, marine, small engine, maintenance, HVAC, farm equipment, or other mechanical experience.
This is a field-based position serving Door County and the surrounding area. You do not need to report to a physical Adams shop in Door County each morning. You'll be provided with a company service vehicle that you can take home and will travel directly from your home to customer locations throughout your assigned service territory.
We welcome qualified candidates throughout Door County, including the Sturgeon Bay area and communities throughout the Door Peninsula.
Since 1988, Adams Power has been Wisconsin's trusted leader in home backup power solutions. We're continuing to grow and are looking for a Generator Field Service Technician to help serve our customers throughout Door County.
What You'll Do
You'll work independently from your company-provided service vehicle, traveling to customers' homes to service residential standby generators, primarily Generac®, along with Kohler® and Briggs & Stratton® systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
Perform scheduled generator maintenance and annual service visits
Change oil, filters, spark plugs, batteries, and other service components
Diagnose and repair generator performance issues
Inspect generator systems to help ensure reliable operation during power outages
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
Complete service reports and customer documentation
Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with customers
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional company service vehicle
Participate in manufacturer training and certification programs
Independently manage your daily service route
No Generator Experience? That's Okay.

Why Join Adams, Inc.?
This isn't a production shop or assembly-line service position.
You'll have the independence of working in the field, your own company service vehicle, and the opportunity to solve different problems every day. Most importantly, if you live in the Door County area, you won't need to commute to an Adams shop every morning before beginning your route.
You'll help homeowners keep one of the most important systems in their home ready for when they need it most: their backup power.
If you enjoy working with engines, troubleshooting equipment, working independently, and taking pride in quality workmanship, we'd like to talk with you.
