The Q3 Contracting Lineman Apprentice Program is an established program that prepares employees for a successful career as a Lineman Journeyman. Prior to being accepted into the Lineman Apprenticeship Program, becoming a Groundman is the first step to gaining valuable work experience in the field. We are currently hiring entry-level Groundmen who will focus on ground support to lineman apprentices and journeyman with the goal of qualifying for Q3 Contracting’s Lineman Apprenticeship program. This includes gaining understanding of material and application, tool identification and proper use and storage, supporting line crews while gaining basic understanding of the trade, site preparation, excavation, and construction clean-up. Desired Start Date: November 2026 – please apply with your available start date. Key Responsibilities: Handing tools, ropes, and hardware to lineman working up on poles or in bucket trucks. Digging holes for utility poles, clearing brush, and padding ditches. Loading and unloading equipment. Transporting equipment. Stocking materials. Driving commercial vehicles and fueling vehicles. Maintenance and care of tools and equipment. Qualifications: Class A CDL. Knowledge of hand and power tools Experience working with ropes/knots. Preferred Skills Preferred understanding of DOT regulations. Q3 Contracting is a drug-free environment, and all candidates are subject to drug testing.
