SUMMARY: The Health Information Management (HIM) Coordinator is made up of a skill set for an individual that exhibits excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills. This position is responsible for managing the medical record, including document attaching, processing, and verification of completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Timely End of Episode Summary communication to the physician
Patient Consent/Election of Benefit review for compliance and timely processing
Timely processing of medical record documentation within Worldview
Attaching and scanning of medical records into the patient chart
Ensure attached patient documentation is aligned with compliance and billing requirements
Compile and process medical record release requests
Respond to LIVANTA and other discharge related audits on same business day
Utilize eSignature platforms to obtain signature on required documents (consent, DNR, etc.)
Escalation of missing items to operations and clinical staff
All other duties as assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School education or GED equivalent
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License, maintain automobile insurance coverage, and have access to a reliable automobile.
