This position will be a traveling position where the qualified applicant will be required to integrate and travel with a paving crew to assist in all assigned functions. The individual must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced work environment. Some night and weekend work will be required. Per Diem when applicable rn Pay rnBase rate is $32 rnPrevailing wage range rate $40-50 depending on applicable jobrnPRIMARY DUTIESrnrnAbove all, insure that safe practices are followed in all aspects of daily activitiesrnDiagnose/troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues accurately the first time; identify parts needed for repairsrnRead schematics, diagrams, blue prints, etc. to assist with repairs and/or diagnosticsrnDiagnose complex electric, hydraulic, and mechanical issuesrnRemove, replace, and repair major components on all types of paving and heavy construction equipmentrnPerform routine services on heavy equipmentrnPerform on-site repairs in the field as needed in a fast-paced environmentrnDocument and record work performed and parts usedrnCommunicate with equipment operators to assess machine performancernSome weekend and night work may be requiredrnTravel will be requiredrnMaintain a clean and organized work environmentrnOther duties as assignedrnThis position requires a person who is self-motivated, professional, and willing to be a team playerrnSWCP pays California wages and Davis Bacon rates when applicable rnrnrnBACKGROUNDrnrnMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as random testsrnMust be able to pass a Dept. of Defense background screening (No Felonies)rnPerforms other duties as instructed by supervisor.
